So, we just began solids. First we did sweet potatoes and my DD loves them. I decided to do rice cereal next for the iron, since my DD hates vitamin drops and our Dr. wants her iron supplemented now. I have tried feeding it plain (with BM), and I have tried to mix some sweet potatoes into the cereal, but alas, she still wont eat it. Do you have any suggestions of what has worked for your DC?
Re: DC won't eat rice cereal... any suggestions?
I'd keep trying to mix it with veggies she likes. Start with MAINLY sweet potato and breastmilk, with just a little cereal. Then if she takes it, slowly increase the amount of cereal you are adding in each feeding.
You could also try other kinds of iron-fortified cereal, like barley.
my suggestion was going to be skip it, but then i saw that your dd needs the iron.
have you tried the pre-mixed kind? my dd would only eat the stuff from jars that was pre-mixed with bananas. if i tried to mix cereal myself, she would refuse it.
I don't know if this will help, but there's a recipe on my blog for homemade quinoa cereal.

Quinoa has naturally occuring iron and so it's easier for baby to digest (less constipating). I think it has a better taste than the boxed rice cereal, though I've never tried the rice cereal so I can't say for sure. Jasper likes it though!
Just mix in a tiny bit to start with a food you know your LO likes, then increase the amount until its say a half and half mixture.
