We are getting our locks changed tomorrow, and many of the bedroom and bathroom doors need to have the entire knob changed because you cannot unlock it (by any means - we found one locked during our inspection and you almost had to take it off to get it open) from the outside. Obviously this is unsafe (my brother once got himself stuck in his room when he was 12, and luckily had a screw driver handy - but I see a toddler locking me out of the bathroom and drowning), so we are going to change them. What kind of knob should we go for? I want something that will be easy to childproof later on...I don't need specific brands, just suggestions like round, long handle, etc. Thanks!
The Knot won't share my Bump Siggy, so here's the low-down:
4/27/07 - Got engaged!
8/31/08 - Got married (to my best friend)!
12/30/08 - Got Pregnant!
9/3/09 - Welcome to the world, Elias Solomon!
8/16/10 - Got Pregnant, again!
5/14/11 - Welcome to the world, Talia Hadassah!
1/14/12 - Ready or not, here comes #3 (EDD 9/27/12)
Re: Easiest door knob to child-proof?
Go round. Long handles are much easier for them to open.
Round is definitely the way to go!
