Help me out! I feel like we are in a rut. Each meal, DS gets a "baby food mash" and a finger food. Here's what we normally have:
Mashes: sweet potato/carrot with lentils or chicken, or some type of squash. I mix up the spices and occasionally add something like red bell pepper for flavor, but the bases are the same.
Finger foods: green beans, peas, cheese, bananas
Occasionally I'll throw him a bite of whatever I'm having, like toast or a random veggie. For breakfast he has applesauce mixed with yogurt and oatmeal.
I need other ideas!! It just seems like a lot of stuff isn't really in season yet, so buying fresh is hella-expensive. Like, I can't really pay $3/lb for asparagus to puree, KWIM? What are you guys doing?

Henry loves tofu as a finger food lately. We dont eat it but I keep it on hand for him. I have made aspargus puree when I find it on sale. Also eggplant is great, either soft for fingers or pureed. We have also done beets, summer squash. If you can feed it to him frozen blueberries are great (I dont let him do it as they are a mess!). I bite them first so they arent such a choking hazard. Watermelon is another finger food that Henry loves lately. I also brought frozen brussel sprouts and made them into a puree... he loves them!
I love trying new things for him so I try things all the time.
Oh... and small cheese chunks and pasta are great!

I love these two beautiful children!
Ooh, great ideas, VTbride. I hadn't thought of eggplant! I'll have to try pasta and tofu as well.
I'll look at some more frozen options, too. I'd rather use fresh, but I just feel like he isn't getting nearly as much variety as I'd like.
i give him toast with cream chesse cut in to squares. He LOVES it. I am so ready for there to be some new fresh fruits and veggies available. Frozen is a good option for some things but I know what you mean about fresh.
Have you given fresh mango yet? River thinks that is some good eats. I have been trying out grains likes amaranth and quinoa with him mixed with fruit it's been well received so far.
Kiwi sliced up, broccoli cheese nuggets (recipe on wholesomebabyfood), I also make minestrone soup and DD loves it. You also could try any type of canned beans.
