Did you get the stones removed or the whole gallbladder? What was your recovery time? I have 2 stones that are kicking up. The doctor is referring me to a general surgeon. Thanks for any help, advice, input, etc!
I had my gallbladder removed. It was not a bad recovery at all. I was off work for 3 days. It was hartd to get up and down. After a few days, I felt completely fine.
i had a scope thing (forgot the name of it) to remove some stones that were stuck. they wanted to remove my gall bladder, but i had a flight home the next day and couldn't change it. (i was on vacation when my gall bladder went bsc - ended up being in the hospital for 3 days of it).
i got the whole thing removed 2 months later (waiting on insurance). i was told no lifting over 15 lbs (including DD) for 3 weeks. at my 1 week checkup he said i could lift her - she was 18 lbs. the worst part was not being able to take care of dd myself. my mom was here all day for the whole 3 weeks and was driving me nuts. i probably could have done it all myself after the first week, but i didn't want that incision busting open or to get an infection and then have recovery take longer.
the first week was crappy - by the second week, only the belly button incision hurt. third week i was fine unless dd kicked me in the belly button. the higher incisions didn't bother me at all.
ETA: I'm a SAHM. I think I could have gone back to work after a few days as long as I could wear baggy pants that didn't hit at my belly button.
Re: Gallbladder ladies
I had outpatient laproscropic surgery on a Wednesday to remove the stones and gallbladder, I took Thursday off from work, and went back on Friday.
