Shelf life of organic baby food

This is a totally random question. I am a total deal shopper and with BRU's Earths Best baby food sale today caught my eye (stage 1 and 2 jars are 50 cents, plus you can use a $1 off coupon to make then 40 cents each). I am not even due until June but had the idea of stocking up on some of the stage 1 baby food. However, this may be a stupid idea because I don't want it to expire before I can actually start using it--about 8-9 months from now.

Does anyone know what the typical shelf life of organic baby food is? I am going to run over after work to check it out, but thought I'd post about it in case it was only a few months and then I won't even waste my time heading over there.

The gerber organic that I have was close to a year away from being expired when I got it

It looks like most of the Earth's Best jars I have around the kitchen expire sometime in 2010 - some as early as Feb., others as late as Nov.
