Duncan Hines, baby! Why mess with perfection??? I didn't make DD's cake for her party, but we celebrated on her actual day at home: Duncan Hines Banana Supreme with vanilla frosting and chocolate filling. In the words of DD: mmmmmmm!
the Wilton website has some good recipes. And for those of you who bake cakes out of a box, you should try from scratch, its not that much harder and tastes much better ... then again, don't do it from scratch as that would cut down on my business
I used the Betty Crocker Starlight Yellow Cake recipe. You can probably google it. I made it in a pan and then traced two circles out of it using cereal bowls. I then made buttercream icing, dyed it yellow and decorated it. Finished product pictured below.
Check out www.cakecentral.com. They have TONS of recipes on there. I now use the Basic Chocolate Cake recipe and it's incredible! So far, all of the recipes I've stolen from there have been really really good! They also have a great photo gallery for inspiration. Have fun baking!
Re: Anyone making DC's 1st bday cake?
Buy a box of Betty Crocker Devils Food Cake mix, 1 jar of chocolate frosting, 2 jars of vanila frosting, and sprinkles.
Chocolate frosting in the middle, vanilla frosting all over. Smother with sprinkles.
DMoney will be a kickass big sister
Different questions: Where did you get the leg warmers for her legs??
