Baby Shower Question

I met with my OB today, and he said that the twins will be born in August (my due date is Sept.28th) and that I will be off work in June, and will most likely be on bedrest at some point.  

We were planning on having a shower in July, but do you think it would be safer to move it to June since that is when I will stop working???

Mine was at 25w5d -- I personally would not have it later than 28 weeks.  This is because of the risk of having babies early, possible bedrest and the fact that between 26-28 weeks most ladies with twins start to get REALLY uncomfortable.

i stopped work when i was 27w - and my shower was at 27w6d.  I didn't want it past 28w b/c everyone says that is when you start to get uncomfortable- and they are RIGHT - i literally started to be uncomfortable on Sunday when i hit 28w.

PTL and bedrest are a real threat with twins- so i'd have it before 28w also.

I just had my shower this past weekend at 24 1/2 weeks and it was great. ?I have another (work) shower at 27 1/2 weeks and anticipate that one being okay. ?I wouldn't schedule anything after 28 weeks or so, though. ?Unless it's being held at your house or somewhere close by and easy to access for you. ?Don't plan on any traveling.

I had one at 28w and one at 30w and both were great! I am still feeling pretty comfortable, but agree with pp that by scheduling it later there is a chance it would have be cancelled or just moved to after the babies are born.

As the pp's said, my shower is early (tomorrow actually) at 25w6d.  From what I've heard from other MOMs, it's better to have it a little earlier for exactly the reasons you're giving.  GL :-)

Ditto pps- mine is at 25 weeks b/c I have to travel to get there and at first I thought it seemed so early but in being on this board, I found out that it is pretty normal to have it just before 28 weeks. I really would like to be able to get as much done in the nursery as possible before 28 weeks just in case too!

Thaks guys!  I felt like June was going to be really early, but it looks like early is going to work out for the best! I think we are going to shoot to have the shower at 28 weeks...
