WWYD, I'm torn

Ok, I'm a teacher and we have spring break next week. DS started daycare 2 weeks ago and is pretty adjusted during the day, he cries when I leave, but I'm assuming that's normal. Anyway, I'm torn as to whether I should bring him in a few half days next week. I REALLY was looking forward to hanging out just he and I next week, but I'm afraid of messing him up. His teachers said it would probably be a good idea to bring him in a few days, but I don't know what to do. DH said I should, but I'm going to miss him terribly. What would you do??

  • i'd say bring him in for a half day 2-3 days. you can run errands, clean, take a nap - just catch up on baby free things. then pick him midday and go out and do something exciting together. i do think keeping him there might be good, so he remembers his routine and you aren't back at square one after your spring break.

  • I wouldn't...but that's just me. K's day is different every day, and she does just fine. Dh stays home with her, but they go off, she spends time with his mom...I'm home with her some random days; so I don't think it's crucial that he go to daycare when you're off.

ETA: Carolina made good points- if you need some time do run errands, etc., it could be good to bring him a couple 1/2 days. Good luck either way. :)

  • Just bring him in for a few hours for a few days.
