bottle/nurse before bed

if you give your LO a bottle or nurse right before bedtime, where do you do it?  in their room, family room, etc?  if family room, is tv on?  we give her a bottle in the family room w/ the tv on and lights down low.  i'm now wondering if it'd be better somewhere much quieter???

Re: bottle/nurse before bed

  • I nursed up until last week and now that we give a bottle it is usually downstairs, before it was always in her room with the lights off and noise machine on
  • Loading the player...
  • I feed LO in her room using the glider. Then it's and easy tranisition to her crib. Sometimes I will feed DD in living room during the day and she gets easily distracted.

  • If its just me and DH home I nurse in the family room. If people are here I nurse in my bedroom then walk him into his. Both places we have the lights off

  • Bottle in her room, lights off, crack machine & humidifier on. I rock her as I feed her.

  • Always in her room.  Anywhere else and she gets distracted or over stimulated.
  • DS get a bottle in his room with the lights off and his bedtime music playing just before going to bed. it def helps him to get into sleep mode more.

  • Interesting question.

I was nursing in the living room---lights very low but TV on.  I've recently started going in to his room with just a dull lamp on (like a night light) and the ocean sound on and nurse him in the glider and he's been sleeping MUCH better....could be a total coincidence though.

  • We switching from lights low/tv on to bedroom about that age. It worked much better.
  • nursery with lights off and her bedtime cd on.
