But DH cannot get out of work and would miss it. So now I have to re-schedule the appt and who knows when I'll get it now!  =(  I was looking forward to this for 2 weeks!

DH didn't come to my first u/s.  I would go without him, but that's just me.  I knew my DH wouldn't think it was very cool or anything because the baby is a blob.  He went to my 12wk u/s and loved it because the baby looked like a baby.

I would definitely go alone - you could show him the pics later! I would not be able to stand the wait!

Yeah, that's definitely tough. I definitely want my DH to be at our first appt. because we'll be listening for a heartbeat and I want to experience that with him for sure! He can't take his lunch or something during that time?

It's soooo tough! When he first asked if I would change the appt I freaked and told him I would go insane if I had to wait any longer. He said he understood and to go ahead and keep the appt but then later last night I heard him talking to his dad saying that he was going to miss the appt and the way he sounded broke my heart!

He won't be able to take a lunch only b/c he will be working in another town that's an hour away....ugh, what to do!!!

At 5 weeks I would say go.  I dont know how much you will see anyway and the next appointment will be even better when you can see a heart beat.

My husband came with me...but if he couldn't have gone, I would have went alone.  Are you just having an U/S or is it a full appt?  I say go without him.  I know that's tough, but you don't want to wait.  And while it is so so so exciting, you're going to be looking at a bean.  And there are a lot of exciting appts to come!

I know how you feel.  Mine had to be rescheduled because the doctor had a surgery and I was so upset.  However this is how I looked at it.  You will be further along so there will be more too see and it will be less likely that they won't see anything because you are too early which would probably freak you out.  The heart starts beating at 6 weeks so maybe waiting a few days will be better.  I know its hard to wait, but it will be worth it to have your husband there.

Ok after that bit of DH patheticness I change my mind.  You should change the appt since he really wants to go.  It will give you a better chance of seeing the HB on the u/s.

I'm just gonna re-schedule, he's just lucky that I'm very emotional right now! I don't want to take something away from him that he feels is special. And then we will have a better chance at seeing the hb, Thanks girls....

Aww that sucks but it sounds like he'll really appreciate it. And you'll probably be able to see the baby a little better if you push it back a bit.

Oooh, that is tough. But it sounds like your DH really wants to be there. Good reminder that they are part of this too (I sometimes forget!).

I'll be driving to the airport right before my first midwife appointment today hoping my DH's flight is on time, he makes it through customs and gets his luggage, in time to come to appt with me. If he doesn't I drive back alone and he will cab to appointment late. All this and we are not getting an ultrasound, just maybe a listen for heartbeat.

Aw, girl! I hope you get an appointment early next week. You are exactly a day ahead of me and my appointment is Tuesday!

Hey there!  Not sure if you saw my BFP.  I got it yesterday!  I didn't realize they did U/S so early.  I have my first appt. next Thursday so hopefully they will do one.

That sucks to wait but it sounds like DH really wants to be there.  Hopefully they can get you another appt. soon.
