My mom just called to tell me that my uncle (who has a history of a$$hattery) got 'removed' from his home the other night. Apparently, things got really bad between him and his wife and my cousin had to call 911 and he was arrested. My mom didn't have any other details other than that.
My mom says that he has nowhere to go for Easter, so she wanted to let me know that he would probably be spending the day with us. I said that I was really uncomfortable with that... I don't think he's making the best decisions right now and his judgment is clouded. Am I being a jerk for not wanting him with us on Sunday?
Re: Please tell me I'm not being a jerk...
sounds like there's more background to the story so I don't know.
a$$hattery... I love this word!
He WOULD have somewhere else to go if he could act responsibly. He's an adult and needs to behave as such. The cops don't get called unless there is beyond bad behavior.
That said, its EASTER and maybe you could be a positive influence. Tell your mom to tell him that you'll be watching televangalists all day if he's interested in coming. It will be like a small, family revival.
