NBR: Banks and Good Friday

Okay...displaced Canadian here in Virginia.

I can't find anything on the website.  In Canada, banks are usually closed on Good Friday.  Are they closed on Good Friday in the states?

    Thanks.....guess I'll have to wait to grocery shop (DH gets paid every Friday and I was hoping it would be deposited early).

    sometimes they are closed for a few hours in the middle of the day to observe Good Friday (and allow time for a church service) but they will be open at some point in the day.  I would just call.

    Where in VA are you?  If you're near a major metropolitan area, the banks will be open.  If you're somewhere small, they are more likely to be closed.

    They're open, it's not a holiday here. The Canadian's that we work with call us Godless, kidding of course.

    I am near DC so I am sure they are open based on the comments.

    I totally miss the 4 day weekend of Easter (some get Easter Monday off as well!).
