Anyone else live in a different state than your families and in laws? My parents are in Minnesota and DH's in Iowa and we live in Arizona. I am giving birth here of course, but I am a little sad that only my mom will be down right away for the birth.
Anyone in the same boat?
Re: Distance between families?
same thing, my mom is coming
my entire family is in Ohio
and DH's live in the Virgin Islands
I am a lil sad, but we have lots of friends here
Same thing here. My whole family is in TX. My Mom plans to be here for the birth (or shortly thereafter). My sister and her hubby want to come sometime this summer and my other sister will be going to college out here next fall, so she'll meet the baby then.
My Dad and Mom will probably come again sometime this summer and make a vacation out of it.
It is sad though, since none of my friends will meet the baby until I take her to Texas in August. I am bummed, since they were all there when I gave birth to my first daughter and they have all been "Aunties" to her. I feel like this one won't ever have that bond that my first daughter has with my family and friends. We used to go to dinner ever week at my parents and they would babysit her too, so they got very close in the last 4 years.
My husbands family is all spread out, so I doubt we will see them anytime soon. Maybe end of summer or this fall.
Yep.
We live in AK and both sets of our parents live in WA.
None of our parents will be here for the birth, unless I go all the way to my induction date - then it is possible that my mom will be here - but the rest of our families won't meet our LO until we go down there to visit in August.
I live in California. My brother lives 30 min away, but 5 from the hospital. My aunt, uncle cousins live an hour away, but my folks live in DC, FIL and wife life in Illinois, MIL and hubby live in Florida.
?It'll be me and DH for the birth, and DD and my bro??shortly after and friends only until a week or so after. (My folks at 1 week, his mom at about a month and his dad at a month and a week.)

My mom is only 2 hours away, but DH's whole family is over 6 hours away in Georgia, my sister is 9 hours away in Florida and my dad lives clear across the country in California. (and we are in Alabama.)
It makes me sad that I have no idea when my dad will get to meet his first granchild. I hope sometime during her first year.

DH parents and my dad both live here in Anchorage. However depending on when DS comes my dad has a high chance of being out of town as he travels 3 out of 4 weeks every month for work all around the state. My mom on the other hand as well as my 2 younger sisters live in Canada and they will not be here until school gets out at the end of June. I really wish that my mom could be here sooner or when he is born, but it just isn't going to work out. She has made a few comments that it is going to be very hard for her to not just get on a plane and come up here when he is born, so it wouldn't surprise me if she was to do that, at least for a couple of days.
I'm an 8 hour plane ride away from my family
We're only an hour and a 1/2 car ride from my MIL
