Bumbo

So I got a Bumbo at my shower this past weekend. It wasn't something I registered for...not sure if I should keep it or return it for something else I need. What are some of your opinions on the Bumbo seat?

Absolutely great....for the 2-3 whole months you use them.

I never received one at my shower and i was kind of disappointed. I really want one, so i will probably buy one for DS in about a month. I have heard different things about it but I still want one

I think they are great!  I used one with my nephew to feed him.  It really helps when they can sit up but are too small for the high chair.  Keep it!

My DD loved it. She still sits in it at 2 y/o (although it's a TIGHT squeeze)

It was handy to use as a portable high chair too when going to other people's houses. We had the tray attatchment and we'd just set her on the table/floor right in front of us and feed her in there

DD loves her bumbo, it is great becsaue she is at an age where she likes to sit up and look around at everything but obviously can't do it by herself yet.

DD loved it so we used it a lot. and it was good to have around the house when freinds brough their babies by.

DD like to sit up and look straight ahead not lay on the floor, so she loved it.

she is 19 mos and STILL loves to squeeze into it.

I don't want one.  If we got one, I'd return it for stuff we do want/need.  I figure he can sit up in the center of his boppy on the floor for support.

I think that they are okay, if only used sometimes.  The portable high chair thing seems like  a great reason to use it.  But, I think your baby needs to sit up when ready to sit up!  If you are constantly plopping them into a bumbo, they won't develop the muscles needed to sit on their own.  Like ice cream-anything in moderation can be great.....mmmmm, ice cream!

Haha, I've been thinking about ice cream ALL day. My husband is working late tonight so a bowl of ice cream just might be my dinner! Thanks for all of the opinions on the Bumbo seat. I don't have a receipt so BRU might not even give me anything for it. So if I'm able to return it and get a credit, I'll do that. If not, I'll give it a try. Thanks again!

My daughter is just about five months old and I love my bumbo.  It allows to to sit up and join us at dinner and we love it.  She feels like such a big girl sitting in her bumbo.

I didn't like the bumbo...i thought it was really unsafe.  DD could wiggle out of the thing by 5 mos old, and u cant start to use it until about 3 mos.  No, i didnt put it on a high surface, but its still scary when your infant flops out head first onto the floor no matter what height.

I sold mine to a 2nd hand store and bought the summer 3 in 1 because it grows more w/ the child and has safety straps.  I have yet to use it but heard good things about it.
