RSVP vent

My shower is this Saturday, and I was just talking with my hostesses about who is coming etc.  They still haven't heard from just under 1/2 the guest list.

While this is partially my hostess's fault for not giving an RSVP deadline, I'm still angry at my friends.  It is so rude to NOT RSVP.  Now my hostesses will either not have enough chairs and food or have enough to allow for the extras and we'll have tons of leftovers to divvy out.

How hard is it to RSVP, seriously?  Even if you aren't sure, let them know that you are considering it and not just totally ignoring it all!

Re: RSVP vent

  • The hostess should contact the guests that are MIA to find out if they're coming, that will solve the extra food/lack of chairs problem.

  • Yes, but they shouldn't have to chase them down, is my point.
  • This is my BIGGEST pet peeve! It takes 2 seconds to RSVP.  It is so rude not to for so many reasons! I was so mad at the few people who didn't RSVP for my wedding ( and I gave them two days passed the RSVP date) that I had my wedding planner call them instead of doing it myself.  They were all embarrassed that a stranger had to call and ask if they were coming or not but I didn't care.

Agreed, but if you want to be able to plan for the party, then you need to do the follow up. It's no different than following up with guests who didn't RSVP for your wedding.

I had to do this for a shower I threw in Feb. 5 out of 30 RSVPed. Yeah, That's a good time. :P

I hate to say it but I've come to expect nothing less.  For a shower I was forced into co-hosting, the invite list was 40 people.  A full 20 did not respond in any way, shape or form.  And we did an evite so seriously not hard to click and say yes or no.  And we could see that most of them had read the invite.

Totally agree. People shouldn't make the host have to do that.
