Last night we were talking to our awesome U/S tech and DH asked how much the machine was. She told us then he said that is why medical attention is so expensive. And she said "Actually it is because of people who get stuff done when they don't need it because they want to"
She was on a call a while back and at 1 in the morning got a call they needed a U/S done from the ER so she went in and was asking the lady for some history on the symptoms, the lady had nothing and then said "I was bored so thought I would come in"
Can you imagine being board and just going in for a U/S???
Re: Fun Story From U/S Tech
OMG, there a definitely some crazy women out there!! lol
U/S out of boredom at 1 am?? Nuts!!
And this is why I don't call the Dr. with every twinge or unknown ache. The more I jam them up with my possible psudo symptoms is time I am taking away from someone else who may REALLY need them.
Maybe it's karmic but I'm trying to save up in case I'm ever really in need for some help. I'd like to know I can get through right away and get some help vs. having someone take a message and get back to me later because they are too busy dealing with people making up things to get attention.
She said it's very common too, but that was the first time someone had said they were "bored"
Just crazy! I loved seeing our baby, but would never lie about it.
