I feel like I'm way behind on finding someone we're really comfortable with, but a woman I called today told me that I was odd for already trying to set this up.
We are likely starting the kid at the beginning of September (when s/he is 6 weeks old).
So if you're going the in-home route - when did you get it set up?
Re: If you're doing an in-home daycare - when did you secure it?
Hmmm, maybe I am being neurotic.
This makes me feel better.
DD was born in July 2007 and I went back to work just before Thanksgiving. I did not start looking until later in August I believe. I just thought that no one would wnat to "hold" an empty place for her for so long. Unfortunately, many people I called were already full and said I should try back next school year (I'm a teacher). I also had one lady that said she didn't want to take any teachers' kids, Nice!
Anyways, everything still worked out and we are with the same sitter still and will also bring DD #2 there starting in the fall. I found her about a month before Addie started going there.
I don't think it hurts to look into it, the worst thing they could say is to call back later. Then they'll probably give you an estimated time when you should start looking.?
