He sang a song for me on his guitar...a song he wrote about me a year earlier. He wrote a few more, but hasn't hardly picked up his guitar lately. And BTW, that song got him laid...as discussed earlier.

He used to open the car door for me all the time...that hasn't happened in a couple years now. And he wrote me a poem right after we got together; now the most romantic thing he ever says is, "Hey, wanna do it?" LOL
he brought me flowers and that's the first and last time i saw them lol. ?although i'm not complaining because the gifts have gotten even nicer but i just the love the fact that he thinks of me often. ?as far as cheesiness - for our first date he picked me up in his suped up honda civic with blacked out windows, blasting rap music. ?i'm ?older than him so i was like "here we go, this should be interesting" but come to find out he is one of the most mature people i've ever met. ?i chalk up the car thing to a temporary lapse in judgment.
Not really - only in that he still does it. Our first date was in NYC's little Italy and he bought me a flower from a passing street vendor. It was the first flower I'd ever received (other than from my mom). He still sends me flowers all the time though.
we walked on the beach at night and he cleaned my shoes; I highly doubt he'd do that for me now... but after 9 years, he's still opens all doors for me everyday
I could go on and on about the cheesy things he did when we were in high school. His lines were BAD. We laugh about how desperate he sounded back then. We were super cool and would flirt over AOL instant messenger. I still make fun of him for saying "so what color panties are you wearing". LOL. Hahahaaa he was not smooth.
When we reconnected during college, he was so overly romantic. He played me this song that he said had reminded him of our "love" over the years. He even teared up (he didn't freaking cry at our wedding or anytime other than the first date, LOL!!!). He also was so over-the-top. He planned a picnic lunch in the wine country and when he picked me up at the airport he pretended to want some coffee, so we go to the starbucks and the lady behind the counter hands me a present, some coffee and a bouquet of flowers.
These days I can't get him to plan anything, let alone a date night!! He tried a few weeks ago and it was a total bust. All the restaurants were full (he needed to call ahead) and the movie we went to sucked. The one thing he has kept up, is bringing me flowers at the airport. He has done this almost everytime he's picked me up in the past 3 years.

oh yeah..the lines were really bad! bwahhhahah.. I have DH's lines forever engraved in my memory so I can laugh at him
FI never really did anything romantic or whatnot.. so nothing's really changed, but when he's home we do have a date night once a week.
But on our first date, I was the one who did something super embarassing.
Ohhhh you have to tell!
Lmao.. well first he basically stalked me at my work until I finally agreed to go out with him, well I did and it had to be when he was up here for his Drill weekend (he's in the reserves and was only on the 1 weekend a month thing then) so a month went by btw me saying yes and our actual date, so I really got to know him and was SO excited to see him and go out... well I picked him up at his friends house that he was staying with for the weekend, when I pulled into the driveway, he was waiting for me.. I was so excited to see him that I forgot to take off my seatbelt... needless to say, I fell out of the car, seatbelt still attached, while he stood there cracking up. It was quite the night to say the least! He still to this day 2 yrs later does NOT let me live it down!

Re: Did DH do anything romantic on your first date that he doesn't do now?
Yeah. Flowers.
I get them once a year, but only after I ask or hint for them.
Um, he listened to me when I talked lol! Now he spaces out a lot or doesn't pay attention.
?
Otherwise, he's become more attentive. He always gets doors for me nowadays, and always gets the car door for me before getting in.?
He always said, 'goodnight, beautiful.' when he was dropping me off (in a totally not creepy-player way).
He will randomly still say it as we go to bed.
