Did any of you have a private lactation consultant come to your house? I am really nervous about BF'd my twins, and I want to have a phone number just in case I need one after I leave the hospital. If you know of someone you highly recommend, I'd certainly appreciate it.
Thanks!
Re: Lactation Consultant
Not sure where you're delivering, but I know Northside has excellent LC's on staff, and you can always call their 24-hour line (sorry, I don't have the #!) once you're home. I'd also recommend having a LC come visit you in your hospital room at least once a day (if not more often, since you're going to have two babies in there!) and just abuse their services as much as possible! BFing is a complicated business initially, but if you stick with it and have lots and lots of support, you can absolutely make it work for you and your boys.
There's a BFing moms group out of Northside that meets every Tuesday in Dunwoody; that might be a really good source for you. They have a message board and folks on there are pretty responsive when questions are posted. Let me know if you want more info on that! And GOOD LUCK--it's going to be phenomenal stuff!
When I was going to the Northside group, we had 3 sets of twins. The group is fantastic, VERY supportive from day 1. Its a room full of people who are going through what you are and the moms of singles would try to pitch in to help the moms of twins. Check it out, its FREE and there is a LC on hand.
The Northside number is free to use - call it anytime. Most hospitals have LC support so I would just take advantage of the nearest one to you.
You can also check out La Leche.
Good luck!
