FYI-- I didnt know too much about the Le Leche League before I had DS. I thought they were a bunch of Bfing nazis with crazy rules and such. They are so not. I wish I had gone to a meeting or called them early on. I had many issues and also had problems getting in contact with a lactation consultant. I almost gave up, but I am so glad I didnt and I finally found LLL and they are so great. They have years of experience btwn them all and they come to your home for free if you need help--and you dont need to be a member. Dont hestitate if you have issues to call them or go to a local meeting.
Just a thought that may help some of you
Re: Future BFers
I felt the same way before I had my daughter. It is weird and chanllenging in the begining but it was so worth it. I took me about 2 1/2 weeks to really get the swing of things (with the help of LLL and a great lactation consul.) but then I BF my daughter for 14 months.
I agree that you really need all they help you can get. It isn't easy and like anything takes practice and help but it can be done!
I plan on going to the local meeting on Saturday, unless my little one comes before then! I've heard great things about LLL, and I'd like to have some sort of contact with them before I need to call them for a consultation.
