DH and I each had insurance through our own work because it was cheaper. Then when we got pregnant, I had to switch to his since I will only be working part time after the baby is born and I lose all benefits.
Insurane in the US makes me so angry. ?Unless you have good coverage through your employer or the state you get completely screwed. ?I have tried to "buy" good insurance. ?You can't. ?They don't sell good coverage to individuals because they aren't mandated to by law like they are for group. ?
I can't wait until we have single payer like the rest of the civilized world.?
We have a private policy. In my opinion, it is better than employer insurance because we could pick the policy that was right for us. And I don't have to worry about losing my insurance because of job changes.
I have insurance through work, but when the baby comes- I have to get private insurance, because I can't afford to pay $550.00 a month for just the two of us... And my DH doesn't have insurance so I want him to get some kind of coverage...
Our whole family is covered through DH's work...we were paying a lot for premiums a month (about $850) but DH worked his butt off & finally got a promotion to upper management & now we pay nothing OOP for premiums for the entire family.
