Has anyone had an ultrasound done at 19 weeks for their twins and the technician predicted the wrong gender? (was curious if this has ever really happened?!)
Not that I've heard of on this board. With twins, you should see a peri with a level II u/s...hard to mess up genders at that gestation with that u/s and trained doctor.
When our OB told us the genders at 16 wks, she did tell us to wait for the Level II with the MFM before we start to buy anything, which we did.
If you are having the 19 wk u/s done at the OB office, it depends how cooperative your babies are being. With the MFM or peri, those u/s are pretty long, that they can keep checking to make sure if your baby/babies have moved, plus they are so much more in depth.
there was a news story my friend sent me about how the technician said that a couple was having a girl and it ended up being a boy..and the boy was born on april fools day! maybe the technician didnt get a good 'shot' of the boy at the ultrasound? or maybe this story is just plain bogus
Oh no no no my dear - that happens ALL THE TIME!! I know someone who thought they were having a girl and had a boy!
I'm talking about TWINS and level II u/s with a peri. Usually with twins you see them more often and more in depth while in utero. Many women pregnant with a singleton may only see the baby ONCE with a standard u/s and tech. There's a difference.?
I have this worry that one of ours is actually a boy. I'm going to have them check again at our next u/s (almost 30 weeks) and then I'll rest that it's truly 2 girls
the told me correctly at 12 weeks (and a couple days)..so at 19 weeks they such be able to say without a doubt..as long as the babies give the right "shot"
