I had lots of red bleeding yesterday, and my doc sent me to the ER. I was there until 1:30 a.m. this morning getting tests (about 7 hours total).
The first ER doc freaked me out when she could not see the baby on an ultrasound. I was crying my eyes out at that point. Then, she left me for two hours, waiting for an ob/gyn resident to come down. The ob resident saw the baby right away on the ultrasound, and the baby was kicking away. The best sight ever!
I had to get a rhogam shot since I am A- and DH is A+. They don't know why I was bleeding, but they called it a "threatened miscarriage." I am happy I have my 12 week ultrasound today at the perinatal center at 1:45. Maybe I can get some answers. They said it could just be unexplained bleeding or an issue with the placenta. Until my appt., I am parking my butt on the couch and not moving.
The bleeding has stopped now. I pray it never returns. I was so freaked out. At the ER, my blood pressure was 186/110 because I was so upset!
Update: Well, the bleeding is back. :-( One more hour until I leave for my appt.

After 22 cycles and tube removal our IVF miracle has arrived! Detailed IF and IVF info in bio.
I'm glad you're at home. Glad you have an appt later today. Rest up!
and holy hell to the blood pressure - totally understandable though.

I'll be thinking of you, stacy. That must have been so stressful, I can't even imagine!
TTC #2, Operative hysteroscopy March 2011; IVF #1 long lupron protocol April 2011-cancelled due to poor response; IVF #2 flare protocol May 2011=hospitalization due to abdominal hemorrhage during ER and no fert due to MFI issues. Moving onto international adoption from Moldova January 2013!
Oh, honey, bless your heart. That must have been a nightmare.
I'm glad you saw your babe kicking up a storm and that the bleeding has stopped. FWIW, there can be a ton of reasons for sudden bleeding like that that are not related to m/c in any way. I hope they are able to identify a clear reason to set your mind at ease and that things are calm for the next few hours.
I'll keep you and the babe in my thoughts.

I hope everything is ok.
My SIL told me she had an episode of heavy bleeding at 12 weeks. It turned out to be a blood vessel tear because of the uterus stretching.
Keep us updated.
