Wow, this show is gooooooood. I have to keep in mind that it's a judgment-free
show cause my mouth has dropped a couple of times at what these mommies
are saying!
Dooce is Heather Armstrong. She's a very well-known mommy blogger who's actually written two books.
Her initial infamy came from being fired from her job for things she wrote on her blog. Dooce is a nickname of some sort and it actually became synonomous with getting fired for blogging. As in, "Woah man, I got Dooced just for saying my boss is a douche on my blog!"
Heather also suffers from pretty extreme mental illness and her blog has been an outlet for some of her trials and tribulations. She went off her meds for the birth of her first child and ended up committing herself in a institution after her daughter's arrival. She's now pregnant with her second child.
She's funny, irreverent, vulgar, and has really nice style. www.dooce.com
Lil' G was born April 25, 2008!
Big C was born September 28, 2011!
Watching now; never read her blog before but it sounds pretty cool. She said that she had severe PPD, but doesn't mention any history of mental illness...
Read her blog. She suffered from depression prior to the birth of her child. I'm sure her server is about to crash right now from the Oprah Explosion, but you can dig through her archives to read about her experiences.
Not to mention, women with previous histories of depression are at a higher risk for developing PPD.
Re: Oprah today: Secret Lives of Moms
Dangit - I meant to DVR this. It comes on the ABC affiliate at 4 p.m., Michelle.
I just want to see Dooce!

Here's an article where she discusses her depression: https://www.cafemom.com/dailybuzz/healthy_living/3879/Dooce_Mom_Talks_About_Her_Depression
