Lotions

I have two questions.

1) My skin is super dry and itchy all over. I've never had to use lotion much ever. And now I'm not sure which one to get. I'm interested in finding something really natural. I'm trying my best to avoid excess chemicals. And I also needs something that smells pleasant but not annoyingly so.

2) When should I start thinking about stretch marks? I already know I'm prone to getting them because I got them on my hips when puberty hit oh so long ago. And right now I'm worried about my boobs. My tiny girls feel like they're being stretched to the limit already. Is it too early to be worried about stretch marks? What are some suggestions for creams/oils/etc that are still really natural and safe? By the way, I've NEVER liked the smell of Shea butter and now that I have a super nose, I hate it.

Re: Lotions

  • Natural is definitely the way to go - i think anyway :-)

I have a brand of natural skincare products and I'd recommend one of these two depending on your preference:

    https://www.shopaot.com/index.php/creams/face/vitamin-e-moiturizer.html

    https://www.shopaot.com/index.php/creams/hands-body.html?SID=c22f4c8e486b4538825c837d1d13332f

The first link is a traditional vitamin e lotion, but the second is a solid, 100% natural, highly concentrated lotion.

If you'd like to order one, just put in couone code "couture" and it'll give you 5% off. I hope it helps!

  • 1.) You could try Aveeno daily moisturizing lotion or anything from Whole Foods, which sells all natural products.

2.) There isn't much you can do to prevent stretch marks.  It is based on heredity.  If your mom got them, you will most likely get them.  If you want to use lotion for your own peace of mind, people recommend cocoa butter.

  • Burt's Bees makes natural products. I don't have the lotion but I have some other products and most smell good. The website has lots of info about the products and a customer comment about each one, so that may help you figure out if they smell good. A lot of ladies on this site recommend going to www.earthmamaangelbaby.com, they also have natural products. If you google it you will get a ton of options.

Ditto pp, you can't do anything to prevent stretch marks unfortunately!

  • You might not get them even if you got them in puberty.  My mom said she got them on her hips in puberty (and so did I), but she never got them while pregnant.  I'm hoping I'm the same.  ::crosses fingers::
