Dallas-Fort Worth Babies

I'm starting to get worried.

The teething has only gotten worse today. He's barely sleeping during the day and the fussiness is crazy bad ... both of which, I can deal with ... but he's not eating. Like, at all.

Today, he *might* have taken 10-12 oz of formula, a couple of bites of banana, and 2-3 spoonfulls of oatmeal ... and thats it. I just put him down for the night and he absolutely would NOT take a bottle. He's NEVER not taken a bottle before bed. He usually has 8 oz! I couldn't even get the nipple into his mouth.

I am seriously worried ... and I know this is totally cliche-nest, but do you think I should consider calling the pedi tomorrow?

  • Oh poor mouse :( I have been there with Sophia where she just refused to eat when she was teething. Our pedi suggested to us to just feed her the bottles more frequently and not worry so much about the solids, we would at times just do 2 ozs at a time to just try to get some sort of liquid in her.

I have called our pedi office several times for what might be considered silly reasons but I always feel better afterwards and honestly that is all that matters. If it gives you peace of mind then I say do it, it can't hurt.

  • I agree, it can't hurt to call right?
When DD is in the middle of teething hell sometimes she'll eat frozen applesauce. We put the little cups of applesauce in the freezer and scrape off pieces for her to eat.
I hope he feels better and eats soon.?
  • Gavin did the same thing when he was cutting teeth on the top as well as when he had an ear infection. Honestly after looking at your bluebonnet pics which are very cute btw I noticed in some it looks like he is reaching for his ear. Maybe he has an ear infection along with the teething. I know when they have an ear infection, it is painful for them to swallow. IMO I would call pedi in the am.
  • Aw, poor baby. ?You know, I would call. ?It can't hurt, and I would be worried too. ?Keep us posted, and GL!

  • the ear infection was my first thought after looking at the bluebonnet pics too. I'm one to call or make a pedi appt though just for a piece of mind though especially when I'm not sure. I've made an appt 2-3 times and it was nothing all the time but it made me feel better to know DS was ok.
  • You can call to ease your worries.  Addy has done that when she has an ear infection...she won't eat anything.  Scared the crap out of me. I was trying to force feed her pedialyte just to get anything in her system.  But the next day- she was fine.
