Dr. Brown Bottles and PBA

Were they always PBA free? I got the large pack of Dr Brown for my shower and I don't remember seeing anywhere that they were PBA free. When I got more bottles I noticed that the new boxes say PBA free.

Thanks!

Re: Dr. Brown Bottles and PBA

  • I think Dr. Brown's were always BPA free, but they just started putting the stickers on to compete with everyone else who wasn't BPA free (ie Playtex) that now that they are get to scream it all over their packaging, kwim?

We switched to glass w/ the trio's bottles b/c if they found BPAs in the old plastic after 10+ years, how horrible will the next plastic chemical be that they find in 2020?  LOL  Yes, I am a conspiracy theorist/paranoid, LOL!!

  • I don't know for sure but I do know the packs that I got that were labeled bpa free, the plastic is different vrs the bottles my sister gave me which were not bpa free. That makes me think they may not have been ?????
  • a couple years ago when the whole BPA thing came out - pretty much none were bpa free - including Dr. Browns and Avent - i would only trust the ones that are labeled BPA free.

For a while most BRUs were letting you exchange any BPA bottles for free ones - even if they were used... it varies by BRU so call and see if you can exchange them for ones labeled BPA free.

  • This made me curious since I thought Dr. Brown's and Born Free were the only 2 brands that were always BPA free.  Nope!  Here is an article: https://zrecs.blogspot.com/2007/08/this-just-in-dr-browns-to-begin.html.  And I'd agree with the other posters that you should probably try to trade them in for the ones labeled "BPA Free."

  • Thank u ladies! I called BRU and they are exchanging all the bottle to PBA free.?
