Zach was doing good until we had to start supplementing. Well his last feeding he only nursed for 10 minutes..Is that ok?? How long should a newborn nurse for?

if remember correctly it was at least 10 min. usually 20min-45min, but as lon as they are for a least 10. I think any lower than that is cause for concern, if yu can try and get him to nurse a little longer, if hes falling asleep wake him um. Hope that helped:)
In the beginning Logan would nurse anywhere from 25 minutes per side to 10 minutes per side. We always nurse on both sides though... I don't know if you do 1 sided nursing or not. But like PP said 10 minutes is usually the minimum. Good luck and congrats! He's adorable! What do the boys think of him?
My DD was never a big eater and in the beginning would only nurse 10 minutes on one side, every 2 hours. Since I was feeding her on demand if she got fussy for any reason I'd put her back to the breast and sometimes she'd do a minute or two and sometimes she'd do another 10. She was a big baby, 9lbs,1oz/23" at birth and was always in the 90th or higher percentile for height and 70 and up for weight. As she got older (like about 6 months) her nursing sessions grew to be 15-20 minutes, and she was only taking 4-5 oz. She always ate solid foods very lightly, too, and just recently started eating huge meals, around 30 months.
