People Annoy Me

Why do people think it's their right to tell others I am pregnant? This is my news to share with others, not theirs. I went to lunch today with two co-workers and told them I was pregnant. Not even five minutes after returning someone else instant messaged my cube mate and told them "guess what". People are such jerks I swear! Do I need to say don't tell anyone because the way I was raised I would never open my mouth about someone else, my mother taught me better. Now the few that knew at work is growing even bigger thanks to them and I work in an office with a few hundred employees!

We told my MIL the day we found out and I specifically told her that we were not sharing the news until after 1st tri.  She said "I can't wait to email everyone", and I told her no, it was not her news to share.  She emailed the entire fam that night and told them and didn't even copy us on the email.  DH's cousin called him to congratulate him and DH had him forward a copy of the email.  I have only spoken to her once since and I was not nice at all.  She is now telling the fam that I am excluding her from my pregnancy.  Damn right you dumb b*tch-you blab your mouth so I'm not telling you anything!

I have a huge fam and everytime someone gets pregnant they get to announce it at the next fam event... something me and my DH were really looking forward too. BUT my mom decided she would call and tell everyone before we were even ready to let people know! And since this is our first it really pissed us off! But there was nothing we could do

I have told everybody to keep it on the down low, I just wanted to make sure that we were all on the same wave length, but that did make my mom and mil super happy when they were allowed to tell other family (aunts and uncle) after our first appointment. ?I am amazed at how people have respected out wishes

So far I've only told two people at work, my boss and one of the school counselors. My boss and his wife just lost a baby, and the counselor just had a baby a few months ago so they were both really understanding about the whole not telling people thing. My mom has told her friends and co-workers, but is letting me wait to tell the family and other people that I actually know. I know that once I tell my students the news will spread through the rest of the school like wildfire so I'm trying to wait. I'm not sure if I want to tell the rest of the faculty first, or let the kids have the fun of spreading the news.

My mom decided that it was a good idea to tell my five year old niece.  She can also be the one that gets to do the explaining if something happens... sheesh.

DH has an aunt who can't keep a secret, so we didn't tell anyone in the family except our parents till we were ready for the world to know.

Also only told best friends who could keep their mouths shut!

Yeah, it can be super annoying, but it happens a lot. Find other things to share the news about, gender(if you are finding it out), decoration of the nursery, etc.

That is so frustrating! Last pregnancy, DH's brothers (who live in the town where we grew up with most of our friends) told all of our friends. We were so upset because we specifically told them not to and we wanted to share that news with our friends when we were ready. They learned their lesson and kept their mouths shut this time
