I see your 1st and 2nd are about 27 months apart.  Do you think that is a good age difference or do you wish they would have been closer or farther (I see you had 2 m/c before conceiving your DS so I hope this question doesn't bring up painful memories)? 

DD is very nearly a Christmas baby like your daughter and DH and I have been thinking we may start TTC #2 when she is about 18 months old.  If I get pregnant the first cycle again then #2 would probably be due the next March like when your son was born.

We were originally trying for 2 under 2, but 27 months has been a really great age difference for us.  DD was at an age where she could understand things more and could even help out a bit (grabbing binkies or diapers). 

When DS came home from the hospital, she was SO excited.  She loved him and doted on him all the time.  I think she was still young enough that she didn't really have any jealousy issues yet.  We see some jealousy now, but we try to make sure both kids have some one on one time with both DH and I.  DD does "date nights" with us and that really helps.

Once DS started to crawl and move around we did (and still do) have some sharing issues.  I think when he started crawling, she was ready to send him back where he came from.  She just wasn't used to him being able to touch her toys.  Now that he walks though, they are back to being best buds.  They still fight (mostly her bullying him around), but more and more they are playing together.  She can make him laugh like no one else can.  It's just an amazing think to watch.

It was also a great age because she was ready to make the move to a twin sized bed.  She got a new bedroom (upstairs from us) and her new big kid bed.  The transition went really, really well (we did it just before DS was born). 

We were actually going to plan baby #3 to be spaced about the same, but we were surprised (and happy) with this pregnancy.

So, I definitely recommend the age difference.  All kids are different of course, but it has been really good for us.
