Hi everyone,
I'm currently just a lurker on the site, but it was requested that I do an introduction. I'm 24, my hubby is about to turn 26. We just had our 2 year wedding anniversary. We have been thinking about starting a family. There are a few things we want to do financially before we ttc. But I already have a list and a plan. My husband always laughs at me, he says once I have the plan in my head, he knows it's going to happen.
Last week I went in for my annual check up and my ob/gyn and I had the baby talk. When we got to discussing my cycle before bcp. She let me know that because of how irregular my period is we may have trouble concieving. She said normally she would tell someone to wait 3 months after going off bcp to ttc, but the instant my dh and I decide we are ready, to finish off the pill pack and start trying. She also had me start taking prenatal vitamins to start getting my body prepped and ready.
She said that most likely, It's going to take me a while and that from the sounds of it I might not ovulate every cycle. It was just a very scary talk for someone who has always wanted to have kids. I've always worried that I would have problems.
So I decided to go online and find out all the information I could (i'm kind of a google addict). I used to be on theknot.com and I remembered that after my wedding they emailed me about thenest.com and decided to see if there was anything on there that had information about ttc. And that's how I came across this board and the tttc board. I've been reading all of your stories and how supportive you are of each other. You're all so funny and optomistic. So I'm sorry for being the creepy lurker. I just didn't want to impose on your group. You guys really make my day.
Re: Introduction (maybe long)
that's a great intro and you seem really nice but the possibility of having problems is not the same as having problems
i think you would be better off checking out *this*
You fill me!!! Z! My BFP Chart
You also need to start charting. With an irregular cycle, it will help you decipher what's going on.
Pick up Taking Charge of Your Fertility.
ditto, ditto, ditto
with an irreg. cycle you'll be able to pinpoint when/if you are O'ing and how your LP is looking. Plus you'll have an idea of how well you timed sex each cycle.

I would definitely read TCOYF - If I had to do it over again, I would go off bcp and start charting and using condoms until I was ready to TTC.
That being said GP will be great for you, but as long as you aren't douchey, I don't think anyone really minds who posts here. If you have been lurking you know what sets us off!
