Need Weaning help

Im at my wits end between ds not napping or taking a bottle. ?Unfortunately he hasnt taken a bottle since 3.5mos so I havent had a break since then. ?

My stash is small after finding out I had lipase in my bm. ?So, I maybe have 10oz. to use in the bottle-I could pump for a little bit, but honestly I am depressed and beat up with breast-feeding. ?Im realizing for myself and my ds's happiness now is the time. ?Can you give me some help as what I should do to have this happen as quick as possible.

Have you tried different bottles? Or a sippy cup? If he isn't taking a bottle, I'm not sure how you'll wean him. He either needs EBM or formula.

Sorry you're tired out! maybe try different bottle like pp suggested. try bottles w/ big nipple i find that it's easier to transition so they don't have nipple confusions. as for weaning i'm trying to wean myself (i'm on thyroid medication) i don't have much milk saved in the freezer also. my dd is on similac sensitive right now. i'm doing cabbage leaves, drinking mint/sage tea, going to take some sudafed (60mg) and pumping to release engorgement but not emptying. I hear all of these are supposed to help decrease milk production, especially taking the sudafed. GL.

First, off you should be proud of yourself. Making it 8 months is fabulous!

As for the transition, I'd talk to your ped about which formula would best fit w/DC. I'd also buy a couple of different bottles & nipples and play around with them. DS will eventually NEED to eat- and when the bottle is his only option, I'd think he'd take it. Good luck!
