What are you thankful for?
I'm thankful that my husband is such an amazing SAHD and that we are able to have one of us do it. He makes our life so much easier and I am so impressed with how much the kids know every single day that I come home. He loves to teach them new things and surprise me when I get home.
Re: Thankful Thursday
I'm thankful for my new friends in our local adoption moms group. We had dinner last night. Every time we get together, we close down the restaurant because we can't stop chatting. The group is full of warm and dynamic women. It's nice to have real life friends that "get it" when it comes to adoption.
Great idea Thankful Thursday!!
I am thankful that DH and I both have our jobs still. His company had a huge layoff last month and he was safe and my company is very slow right now. Lets hope things turn around soon in our economy. I am so sad for the people losing their jobs!!
I'm thankful we have our jobs, too. I know a couple of ladies have either had to suspend adoption plans or are rethinking how to pay for them because of finances and we are so blessed to be able to stay on track.
I'm also thankful for the motivation God provided me this week to start working out again. I've been a complete slug for over a year now - and it's going to change.
I'm calling today "Good News Thursday" because I've received so much good news to be thankful for today.
1. I just found out our dossier translation is completed, and that it will be submitted to the Peruvian government either today or tomorrow!
2. I also just found out that the Peruvian government has SIGNIFICANTLY shortened it's approval time--from 8 months to 5-6 WEEKS!!!!! We might be asked for more information at that point, but who cares? We'll still be far ahead of where we expected to be!!!!!
3. One of my best friends and I booked flights today to visit a third friend for a weekend in May. It will be the first time since my wedding that we are all together in the same room! I can't wait!

4. We also just received the English translation of the little girl's file we've been reviewing. Now we just have to decide if we'd like to get a medical opinion on her case now, or wait (indefinately) until her file is updated with the results from her visit with a specialist (who she may or may not have already seen).
I'm thankful for all these things and for my wonderful husband, who is the only person in the world with whom I can imagine riding this rollercoaster, and all my family and friends--including the one I'm seeing tonight, for the first time in 2-3 years!
I am thankful for my wonderful DH who is too amazing for words and continues to love and support me in spite of me.
