Does anyone else snack ALL day??

I am literally eating all day. I bring in snacks just so I can having something to eat while I'm at my desk- it's like mindless eating!! It's a mixture of healthy and candy- it's kind of out of control. Almost 8 hours of straight eating...

I'm surprised I haven't gained more weight by now...

  • Yes - I do it because I have to. Last night I got home and was starving and I spent the first hour and a half at home miserable, even after I ate dinner!  I have a long commute and I need to pack snacks for the ride home which I didn't!
  • when my stomach issues are at their worst, i find snacking all day helps. i try to keep it healthy - yougurt, applesauce, bananas, etc -
  • For breakfast I have either a bowl of cereal or a couple of poptarts, for lunch Ill have a sandwich, yogurt, a box of raisins, a rice cake and a water, for dinner...well...that's when I dont eat as great...but snacking...aw man...whether its something healthy like an apple or something not so much like Cheetos...I just cant stop.

  • Yes. I feel like I'm always eating. My husband has been accusing me of eating because I "can" rather than because I "need" to, but I'm hungry all the time. I haven't gained any weight so far, so clearly my body is actually using those extra calories.

  • uh yeah! guilty! My coworker even mentioned it last week. I am constantly grazing on something. I'm really surprised I've only gained 2 pounds...cause not only am I eating more, but I'm "cheating " a lot more & eating junk food too, stupid m/s & cravings...

  • Yep. I am so afraid of the hunger pains turning into nausea. I am in love with Fiber One chocolate and oat chewy bars. They are soooo delicious. Pretty low in sugar, not that many calories.
  • Ditto waitinggame.   I live in fear of the hunger turning back into m/s so I just eat all day like some kind of stoned teenager.
  • before i was snacking to help the m/s.  this week i just can't stop eating!  i'm surprised i haven't gained more weight too (thankful though).  i think the nugget must be going through a serious growth spurt.

    Same here...its the only thing that seems to help hold off the yucky feeling a bit.

  • I deliberately pack so I can have something at least every hour and a half, and then a few extra because I sometimes need something sooner. And we packed fruit bars in DH car b/c on the weekends we inevitably get caught out doing something and I'm whiny when I don't get a fix :) I just try to keep it mostly fruit, veggies, yogurt; but I love it when it's time for the goldfish or other goodies.

  • That's how I always eat.  6 or so small meals per day.  Keeps the blood sugar even and doesn't = weight gain as long as you keep the meals small

  • You are not alone.   DH laughs when I pack my morning lunch, noon lunch and afternoon lunch.  With a snack for the ride to work and ride home and a couple in case I feel sick in between.  Luckily I am not eating full blown meals- just snacking ALL DAY.  I think that helps a lot in avoiding the weight gain.

     Totally agree with this!  If I let myself get an empty stomach then I feel like I am going to throw up.  So I have been eating for what it seems like to be NON STOP!! 

  • I am right there with you.  I feel like I am eating all day.  Sometimes I don't even think I am hungry but I feel like I need to eat.  I bring a few healthy snacks for the day plus my lunch and then keep crakers in my car for my commute just in case.   Luckily I have only gained 2 lbs but if I keep this up I am going to be huge!

  • I eat ALL day long.  In the morning when I pack my snacks for work, my husband is like, "You'll NEVER eat all of that today."  Sure enough- gone before the ride home.  And I've lost 3 lbs, so obviously I need it!
  • Guilty!!! I eat and eat and eat and eat all day long. It's so bad that when I get up for my 5am pee i can't go back to sleep until I go eat something. My husband can't believe how much i'm eating (i'm only 5'0 and weigh a little over 100 lbs) it's so unlike me. I was really worried I had put on some serious pounds, but at my doctors appt yesterday i found out that i've only gained 2.5 lbs so far. But today I feel yucky and don't want to eat anything. Hopefully it will all even out so I don't become a giant heffer!!!
