As in Jon & Kate Plus 8 (In case you weren't familiar with the abbreviation).
Do you like their kids names? Did anyone else raise an eyebrow at "Madelyn Gosselin"?
Twins- Cara and Madelyn
Sextuplet girls- Hannah, Alexis, Leah
Sextuplet boys- Joel, Aaden, Collin
I love the triplet girls names. Especially Leah.
Re: J&K+8 kids names
i like them. Not a fan of the name "Joel" or the spelling of "Aaden", but generally speaking I like the names.
?"Madelyn Gosselin" ?is OK.
Yes, that has always bothered me! I like all their other names though. Aaden Gosselin would normally bother me because the endings are too similar, but he's probably my favorite so I don't mind
I think they're fine. Not wonderful or anything.
I probably like the twins' names the least. I don't care for Cara at all. I don't think it's that pretty, plus I knew an awful woman with that name. I don't care for the spelling of Madelyn, but I adore the name Madeline.
My favorite of the names is Hannah, by far. I've always loved that name. I agree with PP on the generic filler middle names they gave to the sextuplet girls (Faith, Joy, Hope).
I have never seen Aaden spelled that way, so it always seems strange to be when I see it on the opening credits.
I love Cara. I wouldn't have paired Madelyn with Gosselin, or spelled it that way. I like the triplet girl names. I like Joel. I don't like Collin. And Aaden makes me want to vomit. The name is SO overused and that spelling is just horrific.
I agree. I think all of the names go together well, but aren't matchy or anything. If it were me, I would have given each kid a different first initial, if that makes sense. Growing up, my parents assigned chores on the board and that kind of thing by S, B, Z, M, D...but I think the names all flow together.
And Madelyn is called Mady more than anything else, so I think it's fine.
I like the names ok, but I would not personally have chosen them.
I am curious why some of you think that Faith, Hope, and Joy are "filler" names. I have known plenty of people with these names and my BFF in HS was named Faith. I hypothesize that after battling IF they were really happy to have these little miracles.
I disagree with Hope, Faith and Joy being considered "generic filler" middle names. I have triplets with one having the middle name Hope. A lot of thought went into her middle name. A higher order multiples pregnancy is considered extremely high risk and I can see why the sextuplet girls would have those middle names - esp. given Jon and Kate's religious background (and believe me, I don't even really like them!)
Anyway - I thought that Grace, Rose and Claire were generic fillers for middle names??
I agree re: Faith, Hope and Joy. I would never criticize them for these. They were given to them for the significance of them being three of the theological virtues.
And I don't like the Gosselins very much either!
I'm not a fan of names that end in the same sound...
i.e. Aaden, Colllin, Madelyn Gosselin
(or when the first name ends in the same sound that the last name begins with: i.e. Collin Noname)
I love all of the names actually and I like that they seem to go so well together. ?Dh's name is Joel and I especially love that one, although before I met him, I knew two Joels in high school and I always thought their name was a little tough/weird so i get that other people don't always like it. ?
What's wrong with Madelyn Gosselin? I think it's very pretty. Not a fan of the Aaden spelling personally - Aidan is my style with that name. ?
?
I agree with this completely. ?Grace, Rose, Claire, Anne, Marie....those are generic filler middle names to be honest! ?
