OK i'm sure i'm just paranoid but hopefully you guys can ease my worries... ![]()
my DD is 3 months old this week, and she has recently been less interested in eating. she had been eating every 1.5-3 hours during the day on both sides (i feed on demand), but now it's more like every 4 hours and often on only one side. and i have one boob that over-produces and the other under-produces i think (or maybe it just feels like it in comparison to the bigger side!)... sometimes she will only eat from the smaller side and then be done or fall asleep, so it might be many hours before she eats from the larger side again.
is this just normal regulating of her eating habits?
i never know if i should pump the side she doesn't eat on, because i don't want that side to stop producing enough... but then again i don't want to always be making more milk than she needs...
Re: slowing down on feedings at 3 months?
My dd also seems to be slowing down in the eating department, she was eating every 2 during the day, it was rare she could go to 3 hours. Lately she is about 3 hours for each feeding.
I think as long as she is eating and peeing she is fine. I always pump when dd changes her eating habits for the same reason as you, I'm afraid I'll stop producing. BUt I don't think it's really necessary as your body should adjust if she increases her eating needs.
