On a lighter note, April Fool's jokes?

Have you ever done anything for April Fool's day?  I'm not a practical joke type person myself. 

At my previous job, a co-worker turned in her resignation as an April Fool's joke.  Our boss knew she was joking, so she decided to play along and accepted her resignation and told her to leave immediately.  Co-worker burst into tears and tried to explain it was a joke.  So the joke ended up being on her.  I thought that was pretty dumb of my co-worker.  You should never assume you can't be easily replaced (especially these days).

I've never been a good jokester.

However, every year at work an obnoxious group of young guys always get a Partner.   Last year it was the cover every inch of everything in their office with foil.

I have seen some funny things (I'm sorry the Left-Handed Whopper and the best pasta crop in years were really funny to me), but a lot are mean.

Back when I was in college, I was a student worker for an office.  We came in early for the first day of registration, and the office was trashed.  We called the police because we thought we'd been broken into/vandalised.  Then we realized that the staff offices were filled with balloons and there were other 'funny' things going on, but we'd already called the cops.  And then registration (which was over the phone at that time) wasn't working, so the phones were ringing off the hook as people called us in a panic, and we couldn't get to them becuase of all the crap everywhere and it was a nightmare.

About an hour later, the dean strolled in, big smile on his face, asking what we thought of his belated April Fool's Day joke.  He'd asked some students to come by and pull the prank.  He had no idea we were going to freak out like that.  Seriously, we were doing inventory with the police to see if anything was missing.  The police were not amused.

Once I told my mom I'd joined the CIA. She believed me, and started getting all excited about the "bennies."

Another time I sent my mom an email that said something along the lines of "Mom, I'm writing from London. I met Sean Lennon (John Lennon's son) at a concert and we fell in love, and now I'm on tour with him." She totally believed me, and was worried that things were moving too fast.?(For the record, I picked Sean Lennon because I needed somebody my age, who my mom would know by name and who I might legitimately meet backstage.)

Lets see, what else? Once I told a co-worker that Yoko Ono had personally asked me to sing on a new recording of Imagine. It's worth noting that I absolutely cannot sing, and I have never met Yoko Ono. (Funny that I have two AFD jokes that revolve around John Lennon.)

only joke I ever tried was back in HS.   I was part of a group of 4 girl BFF's.   One was a total slut, the other 3 of us were virgins.

when we were 16, we told slutty one that I had "done it".   She was so thrilled for me.   Later that day we were all walking to the gym for cheer practice.   Slut and I were walking in front of the other two.  girl in back said "wait up, you're both ahead of us".   Slut responded all mean and snooty "we are ahead of you".

oooooh.   she didn't live that comment down for a long time.  And she was pissed at me when she found out it wasnt' really true.

I think I've only ever pulled one prank at work My coworker and I have similar hair, and a bad tendancy to wear the same thing on the same day. So one April 1st we purposely dressed the same and made sure the hairstyle of the day was the same and switched offices. We only had to switch for about an hour before we got both our bosses and a 3rd person

Those pranks are great staycee. The only thing I've ever really done and not on April fools was T P peoples houses.

I'm not into them, myself. Our school secretary just did a nasty one though. She put fake vomit with added oatmeal on it on the floor near the staff bathroom (which is in the "nurses office". I really thought some kid barfed and it was left there. I almost hurled myself.
