DH and I are tossing around names. We aren't finding out early, so we have to have some names set up before we go in. No time like the present to start! So WDYT?
Kind of what I was thinking. Plus, its my dad's mom's name (deceased) and my great-grandma's name on my mom's side. Double duty w/ the honoring of fam members.
it was my great-grandmother's name, one of my favorite people, so i have good associations with it. also, it's just a pretty name, probably why it's becoming so much more popular.

It's pretty and classic as the others have said. I personally only know really old Lillians, though so with that impression I would use Lily as a nn while she is young. Not that Lillian is bad for a little girl though!
I LOVE Lillian. It's a beautiful, classic name. And I think it's wonderful that it honors family.
I have a good friend whose daughter is named Lillian, and Lily (Lillian) was my DH's #1 choice for a girl's name (we're not using it because it sounds awful with our last name).
Re: Lillian?
I think it's really classic and beautiful. I also think Lily is a great nn.
I like!
