~GD Mamas~
March 09 buckeyemommy {EDD 3-29-09} Mistyl {EDD 3-29-09 (insulin)}
I'm supposed to stick to one for each, along with some protein, but I have found that for my afternoon and evening snacks I can do 1 1/2 or 2 without a problem. Oh, and fruit seems to give me high readings, so if I have fruit with any of my snacks, I try to stick to just the one.
That being said, my evening snack tonight was an english muffin with low sugar/low salt peanut butter and about 1/4 of a banana (sliced very thinly to cover the whole english muffin.) Closer to 2 or 3 carbs, so we'll see what my fasting number is tomorrow. My after dinner number was 90 and I was starving, so I thought I would take the risk. I'm pushing water now .
I get 11-25 g for my morning snack and 26-35 g for my other snacks.
One additional note for the day: I had an ultrasound this morning to check the size of the baby because my OB was concerned that I might be measuring large for gestational age, and everything looks good. I know that weight estimates by ultrasound are often off, but they estimated him at 5 lbs. 12 oz., which put him in the 58th percentile for weight for where I am in the pregnancy. Let's hope things continue on that track, and I don't end up growing a 25 lb. baby
Hi! I would love to be added to the list. My EDD is 6/10/09. I am a 2nd time mom with GD. I was on glyburide last time and find out next week if I will be on it again.
I did a 1 hour at 12 weeks which was fine so they let me wait until 28 weeks to do my next 1 hour...which I failed. I then did the 3 hour on Monday and had elevated fasting levels (same as with DD #1). I met yesterday with Internal Fetal Medicine, I have to do my sugar levels 4x a day and then next week they will determine if I need meds (which looking at things I know I will - lol).
