3 Week Old Mamas..

How long does your lo sleep at night ( how often is he/she up to feed)? Do they go right back to sleep? Also what are your days like??

Last night ds was up from 10-1 and would not go to sleep.. He was fed and changed and would just fuss and cry anytime i put him down in the crib.. He ate almost 3 ounces and was spitting up and still acted like he was sooo hungry... I burped him and tried to give him an extra ounce but he would just spit it up...?

On top of this when he finally fell asleep he was up in about 1.5 hours and its so hard to get him to go back to sleep...

Not sure what I am doing wrong... During the day he eats every 2-3 hours and falls right back asleep.. ?

Any advice?

I am still there - DD just nursed and crashed, but after her 1:30am feeding, she only wants to play.  Maybe that is why she sleeps so well during the day?  No suggestions, but I will be stalking your post hoping you get some

Hi!!  Sorry you aren't getting much sleep.  I think when babies are that young, a lot of them just don't have their days/nights straight.  It will take a little while.  Try to keep daytime bright and noisy, and keep nighttime diaper changes/feedings dark and quiet.  He will get it eventually!  GL

Hey Julia! I hope he gets it soon! lol! The worse part is that when he sleeps during the day its so hard for me to be able to take a nap as well... =( Hows Caroline doing? ?

Nolan goes 2.5-3 hours at night and I feed him about 2oz then change his pants and then give him the rest of his bottle and he usually goes right back to sleep within 15 mins or so. Occasionally he will stay up and fuss for a while.?

After our 7-9am feeding he stays up usually till his next feeding and then after that he eats every 2.5-3 hrs and then stays awake for a .5 hour-hr and then naps till next feeding. In the evening his naps are more sporadic. ?

At 3 weeks I gave DD a bottle of 2 oz & nurse for 25 minutes around 9 pm.  Then to bed.  She usually layes there for 15 minutes before going to bed, which is routine for her.  She usually woke up between 1-2 to feed.  At night she usually only nurses 10-15 minutes along with 2 oz of bottle depending on how tired she is.  She is up again to eat anywhere from 4-5.  Up again at 7:30 to eat.  Then back to sleep from 9:30 am-12 pm

This past week she eats at 8 pm and to bed at 9.  Up at 11, 2, 5.  She has been going back to bed after the 5 am feeding and has been sleeping until 10 am. During the day she wants to eat about every 2 hours.  I have also started having DH give DD a bottle of 3 oz for the 5 am feeding so I can sleep in a little.
