Babies: 0 - 3 Months

Nearly 5 months...what is DC eating?

We were told to wait on baby food for the time being because I had really bad food allergies as a child. I was curious though...should we be upping his formula intake? He is get 6oz with 2 tablespoons of oatmeal (acid reflux) at every feeding. Should we be giving him more formula? Or what point should we be? He eats about 5 times a day, so 30 oz total. TIA!

  • We are right about where you are at.  DD had her 4mo shots last week and has a cold so her feeding has been thrown off a bit.  I'm trying to get to a schedule that works around her wake and nap time.  Right now we are doing 6oz every 3 hrs which is about 5 bottles.  We try to give 8oz in the last bottle before bed time.  She is napping better so I am hoping we can do 8oz every 4 hrs and do just 4 bottles.  We'll see.  I say if your LO is doing good w/ it and isn't still hungry you're doing good.

  • DS is a boob man, but I when he gets a bottle, he usually downs about 6 oz or so. He nurses between 6-8x everyday (he's a biggie), so if he gets 5-6 oz each time, that's 30-40 oz so I think what you're doing sounds normal.
