What do you wish you did before you had your first child?

Ok so hubby and I have been married almost 4 years and while little ones for us are quite a while off it got me to thinking... what do parents wish they had done before the started trying. Since we are taking our time I want to make sure we get the things out of the way that some people regret not getting the chance to do (or better baby prep!).

such as:

take a last vacation before trying...

remodel the house...

make so much money...  

start stocking up on baby clothes 2nd hand to save on money...

have the money for a larger vehicle or already purchase a larger vehicle...

getting the idea? Please post your answers and help someone out! Thanks a ton!

I don't think we have anything we wish we had done - we did set certain goals for ourselves before ttc.  We paid off our debt, took our honeymoon (a year late) to Belize, and put money into savings.

At this point in time, we are just trying to enjoy spending the time alone together before the baby gets here.

I only wish I could TTC. DH keeps making a list like yours.

I think we did everything we wanted- bought our first house, went on 3 cruises, made our goal income. I am very happy with our timing.

I wish we'd paid all of our CC debt off prior to having a baby.  I hate that we have any, and now, with daycare bills, etc., it's hard to pay down aggressively.

lol i am a list person yet i am very scatterbrained. thanks for indulging me with what you all did or hoped to do before you TTC Since we have the time i want to make sure there is no looking back and regretting something  because i know we couldn't regret a little adorable rugrat! eventually!

My DS was a surprise baby.  My husband and I weren't even married/living together yet.  I do look back sometimes and wish we had that "just the two of us" time after being married.  But then I wouldn't have my DS.
