NE1 else clean the house on weekends because its just easier?

I feel badly, that I wind up cleaning the house on the weekends. But it is just easier, that way, DH has time with DS and I get to clean the house. Its easier for me to just do it than to have DH help- he takes WAY too long.

Anyway, I feel badly about it because I feel like I should be getting it done during DS's naps, etc during the week- but I've been using that time to hit the treadmill and get the laundry done.

  • I do much of my cleaning when DH is around to help with DD. It's hard to spend every waking minute either tending to DD or cleaning. No fun! It gets done so much faster when I don't have to worry about waking up DD, too!

  • funny b/c i save some cleaning for when DD is w/ me.  it's easy to put her in her bumbo or bouncy on the kitchen floor and i clean.  i realize when she starts really moving that won't be the case.  wknds are for relaxing mostly for me.  i just find cleaning during the wk works best for me.

  • DH and I tidy up in the morning when both us are here, and do bigger cleaning projects on the weekends.  I don't feel bad about it at all.  My DD is hit or miss for naps, and she runs me ragged when she's awake.  When she's napping, I relax.
  • I do the same...It's just easier. I can clean, un-innterupted if DH is home to watch DD.

  • I wish.  I just did a full house-clean yesterday.  We are too busy on the weekends with fun stuff - DH wouldn't tolerate this tedium on his weekends. :)

  • I think the one-on-one time your DS & DH are getting is great, so go with what works.

  • I do the cleaning that takes extra time on the weekend and things that are quicker/easier during the week during naps and down time.

Don't feel bad do what works for you and your family.

  • I hate using the weekends for anything but family time. We get little enough time all together with DH working long hours lately.

I just let it go and eventually the mess drives me to do it when DS is home bit by bit or using the precious childcare time (a few hours each day).

I would love for that to be me time but it is currently split between jobsearching and housework.

  • I do...DH typically takes the girls out Saturday & does errands or something fun while I clean--that way they aren't trashing another room or under my feet everytime I clean & DH gets bonding time w/ them.  It works out great for my family.
