had infertility workup today

I had my initial infertility workup with my ob/gyn today.  DH has to have a SA, and I have to have CD3 blood work, and HSG on CD11, and an endometrial biopsy on CD21.  I've heard the HSG sucks, but I've never heard of the endometrial biopsy.  It doesn't sound too pleasant though.  Has anyone had both, and if so, which was more painful?  My DH will be able to take off for one of the tests so I'd rather have him be there for the worst one.

    The HSG isn't too bad - I had cramping when they put the catheter in and it lasted a little while after the test - just take some advil before hand. I haven't had the endometrail biopsy, but I believe it's worse than the HSG (but not awful). Good luck!

    I have not had the one but I recently had the HSG. It was horrible, but my case was unique. Even my Doctor had never seen anything like that happen. From everything I hear, its not SUPPOSED to be that bad.

    The HSG was bad for me but I really believe it's only because I let myself get worked up about it. It's mostly just cramping and I am a total wuss. It's over quickly- 5 or 10 minutes. Try to take some extra strentgh tylenol before you go and bring a pad in case you leak.

    Not to freak you out, but the HSG was awful, as was the SHG which you may need to have after the HSG. I have the biopsy on April 6 and I'll let you know how it is, but it's supposed to be worse. I have a high pain tolerance and they found nothing abnormal in my HSG but it still sucked big time! It's totally worth it though to have some answers! good luck!

    The HSG was not as bad as they make it out to be, however, the biopsy was terrible. I seriously almost came off the table and that was with pain killer and valium. I didn't expect it to be so painful considering the HSG wasn't very bad and the saline test was a piece of cake.

    Just make sure you take lots of painkiller before-hand. Oh, and I'm glad I did it, regardless of pain, because it was the one test that found my problem where the others were perfect.
