I hate grocery shopping.

Ugh.

Luckily, it's done for the month now, but oh how I hate it.  I hate unloading the cart on the check-out line, I hate unloading  the cart into the car, I hate unpacking the groceries and putting them in the pantry/fridge.  Yuck, yuck, yuck.

I also hate when someone gets behind me in line seeing that I have a crapton of stuff and huffing and puffing and being all impatient.  (This does not include people with only one thing, I will let them go ahead of me.  I'm not a complete asshat.)

  • Me too!  That is why I now do online grocery shopping and have it delivered to my front door.  Best thing EVER!

  • It's my least favorite household task.  I've completely relinquished it to DH and I'll just have to deal with the impulse purchases he inevitably comes home with!

  • I hate it too, so I spend $5 and let someone else shop for me.  No arguments, no stress, no impulse buys, great for sticking to a budget and meal planning too.
  • I hate grocery shopping too.  I am going on my lunch today to hopefully avoid the weekend crowds.

  • I hate it too, and I hate how dh tries to tell me "that's time to yourself." If I go without the kids....uh, no it isn't..its time doing a household chore.

And I hate the looks when I pull out my own grocery bags....lots of huffs and puffs for that...and then more when I pull out my coupons.  I'm every person in line's worst nightmare....

  • Try adding 101 coupons to your order, and watch their heads spin around.

I ALWAYS warn people that I have a bunch of coupons, and if they start huffing and puffing, I have been known to say "Well, I did warn you."

that is a GREAT idea... how do you do that? who does the shopping?

  • Acme does home delivery for $12.95 or $6.95 to have someone shop for you and you pick up the groceries at the service desk.
  • I wonder if Hyvee has this... hmm.. I'm gonna have to check!

I like shopping, but this would REALLY curb the impulse buys!

  • My local ShopRite does this for a $10 fee.  In the circular though there is a $5 coupon each week.  There's a designated spot in the front of the store where you park and the 'shopper' loads the groceries into your car.  You just hand over your payment and coupons and off you go.

I honestly can't remember the last time I was in a food store. Definitely before Emi was born.

I either do peapod.com, or ShopRite from home. Or DH goes. I already have a toddler and a baby to carry/escort into the house. I don't need to add 10 grocery bags to that load. I already feel like a mule.
