Stretch marks are hereditary so you can't prevent them. I have been using Palmers cocoa butter and it hasn't done anything to keep them away. It just moisturizes me.

From what I understand, you can't prevent stretch marks, if you are pre-determined to get them, you will. If you want to use lotion to keep yourself hydrated, they say Cocoa Butter is good.
I put on Palmer's cocoa butter lotion every night (well, actually, DH puts it on me ) I know they are genetic, but the stuff is cheap enough and moisturizes my skin anyhow.
I bought a cream at a maternity store by Mustela and its really rich and creamy and feels good on the tummy. Stretch marks are hereditary so I guess its just nice to keep the skin moist
You can't prevent them as much as you try. I've been using palmers cocoa butter since I was around 10 weeks (twice a day) & just started getting stretch marks on my boobs 3 weeks ago!

I'm using Palmers Tummy Butter- it's crazy moisturizing. I know that stretch marks are hereditary, but there's GOT to be a difference in the way stretch marks look: hydrated skin's stretch marks vs. non-hydrated skin's stretch marks. Essentially, your skin is stretching so far it's breaking- having your skin moisturized has got to help a little!

Although it's said by many that stretch marks are hereditary, I believe in prevention. What's the harm in trying to prevent them? Even if they do come, you can at least say you tried. I use Palmer's lotion.

i have been using the Palmer's dry oil. My doc recommended that since my belly itched so much. It is nice because you can get dressed right after putting it on and it doesn't feel heavy or sticky at all. You can find it right by the coco butter.
You can't prevent stretch marks, but at least you can feel like you are doing your part to fight them. hahaha!
I know....I know they are based on genetics and mine suck!! I have been using Elemis Japanese Camilla Oil and The Body Shop's COcoa Butter day and night. I have some Mustela products arrving. I live in Hong Kong and miss some of the American novelties!!
