DH and I are so indecisive... we love all the pictures Lisa took! (If you're interested, here is the slideshow...
https://lisarussophotography.com/Slideshow/Jill/
But we need to pick which ones we want to buy - and I was thinking it might be nice to get a collage with several pictures framed to put on the wall of my bedroom.
The questions are... is 9 pictures too many and too crowded/busy (the 9 picture options would be 20" x 20"? Should we do black and white or color? Would it be better to get two framed sets with 3-5 pictures in each (maybe one color and one black and white) rather than one big one? (The smaller sets of 3-5 pics would be 10" x 20").
Any help you can provide would be so greatly appreciated. It breaks my heart to think that the ones I don't buy will be deleted, but we can't afford to buy everything!
Thanks!
Re: Wanna help me pick maternity pics?
Those are great!
I like the B&W ones the best! If you have space for the 20x20 get that one.
How do are you going to display it? Is it a "lean-to"?
I like you with belly out leaning on fence, the two of you leaning on fence, and the twirl. I like the movement it shows thru the three in a series. All black and white. You could get away with 8x10 prints all in one frame.
And then maybe the belly shot with both sets of hands a little larger 11x14 by itself. ?
Maybe you could get a deal on what you don't use in frames as a 4x6 and make a small album or add to scrapbook? And it would not hurt to ask for a print package ?or discount for ordering multiples. I usually offer ala carte print prices for the case when someone orders one or two but when they get up there in prints I offer discounts as incentive to buy more.?
?
Good luck they are truly beautiful!?
So nice! I think the ones with 9 pictures are a little too much. Plus, when the baby comes you are really going to want a lot more of those prints versus belly prints.
Since I print the spreads too, I would recommend, and it is cheaper, to get either three 4x6 or 5x7 prints and put them next to each other in your own series frame that is pre-matted. It turns out looking better than the combo prints because the white in between the pics is just white photo paper.
I think the 20x20 might be a little too much...it also depends on where you want to display the photos. Will you be putting them in the nursery? I usually sell a 10x20 storyboard or loose 5x7 and 8x10 prints to be framed by the client. Once the baby comes...you will want to have as many of the sweet pea up as you can...more than you can imagine. I know it is hard to think about the non purchased images being deleted...I am not sure if you did a maternity/newborn combo or not...but what I sell a lot is a coffee table book after the newborn session and that includes pictures from the maternity session too.. so maybe that could be an option for you.
Tough decisions....talk to Lisa though...she should be able to talk you through it so that you make the best choice. Good luck!!!
I agree with PP about the 9 pictures being too much. You will want more pictures once the baby is born.
Personally, I like them better in the black and whites, and I would say to pick one picture of just you (the ones showing your face I think look better), and then I would suggest picking 4 others of you and hubby together. You could put the picture of you in the center and then the other 4 pictures with the two of you in the four corners (surrounding the picture of you).
Great pictures! Good luck with deciding.
Isn't that what happens when you end up having kids.
