tender spots in breasts

I keep getting areas of my breasts that are extremely tender. There is no redness and no lumps, but so painful. I also start to feel feverish and achy. Could this just be engorgement still? Anyone have this? I had this before and it passed after a day or so but now it is acting up again in a different spot.

Those are clogged ducts.  You don't necessarily feel a lump.  Kellymom.com has a lot of good tips for treating them.  There's not much you can do to prevent them.  Try to make sure your db completely drains your breast when you nurse and if you do become really engorged (like if db starts sleeping in long stretches) pump just a little until the breast isn't hard.

I was told by the home care nurse that visited me this week that if I feel flu-like symptoms along with the sore spots that could indicate mastitis.  I'd give your doc or LC a call.
