UTI update!

Thanks for the advice. I ended up calling before I even read all of your posts because the pain was really annoying and I was starting to have lower abdominal cramping. My doc. told me to go on to the ER because of the cramping. Turns out that I definately have a UTI and the cramping is caused by the bladder spasms (which they can do nothing about while I am pregnant). They monitored the baby and she is doing just fine! Thanks again!

Re: UTI update!

  • ugggh the cursed UTI.

i am glad you got it checked out, and hope that they were able to recommend at least a lil something for the pain.

    feel better!

  • Glad to hear you went in.  Hopefully they got you started on something to kick that UTI's butt!  Good luck-hopefully the meds work quickly for you!

Not to butt in-but I take Macrobid daily for prevention because I get horrible kidney infections.  Cipro is what they gave me pre-pg but Macrobid is all they will prescribe me while I'm pregnant.

PS--Water with lots of fresh lemon juice is fantastic to help keep your kidneys flushed out.  Even better than cranberry juice because it has lots of sugar and even the best cranberry juice is usually less than 30% actual cranberry juice.

  • They said that Macrobid was all that they could give me. I am hoping it will ease the pain a bit. At first they wanted to give me something else, but I am allergic to penicillin so they said they didn't have too many choices to work with.
