Hey ladies!
I'm not a big fan of shower games...but I thought I might pass this on. I am doing it at my sister's bridal shower with anniversaries, but thought it might be a fun idea for a baby shower as well. ![]()
1. Depending on number of guests, pass out notecards and envelopes numbered 1 to however many guests there are, so hypothetically, you have 20 people, get 20 notecards with the envelopes and number them accordingly.
2. Have each guest draw out an envelope when they arrive to the party out of a bowl or hat.
3. Over the course of the shower, ask them to write a note to the baby for the birthday that coincides with the number on their envelope, so for example, if they recieve 10, they will write a note to the baby for them to open on their 10th birthday.
4. Give them to the baby's mother and ask her to NOT open them until the birthday associated with the note. Keep them in a safe place and share them with the child.
5. To make it a game to "win", ask the mother-to-be to quietly choose a number between 1-20 and whoever has that envelope wins a gift.
I think this is a great way to remember your shower, and the guests who were in attendance. As mentioned, it's fun to do for anniversaries for a bridal shower.
Just an idea I thought I would share! Share your fun shower games here as well!
Re: Fun Shower Game Suggestion
hehe-this could get dangerous depending on who you have at your shower!
I'm thinking to my bridal shower where everyone was given cards and asked to write advice to the "new bride" and my grandmother wrote: "Are you sure you want to do this? It's not too late. You can still escape-marriage is a trap forever." Wow-thanks grandma!
I guess I would hope that people would know they are writing a note to a child and not just advice. I envision other things...but yah, thanks Grandma! UGH!!
haaaaaaaahahaha~ that is hilarious! especially coming from your grandma! only grandmas can get away with stuff like this.
